Gary Rogers
Gary Rogers is a Senior-Level Executive with cradle to grave life-cycle production experience within the Bio-mechanical, Consumer Electronics and Wireless Telecom industries. His corporate management experience includes Public and Private Corporations between $10 Million and $200 Million in sales revenue, with P & L responsibility for both domestic and off shore manufacturing operations as well as Distribution, Customer Service and outsourced contract manufacturing. He has established and managed operations in start-up, expansion and recovery phases in both traditional and cross functional matrix organizations demonstrating his ability to lead and mentor through the establishment of goals, positive reinforcement, team building, training and motivation for corporations of 50 to 2000 employees. Current and recent consulting engagements include:
For a biometric sensor designer, in Albuquerque, NM, as the Senior Operations Executive: a 3 year project to teach PhD’s and scientists how to bring products to commercialization. Accomplishments include:
- Implementation of Policy for control of released engineering documents.
- Improvement of first pass yield from less than 10% to in excess of 85%.
- Generation of high volume production plans to reduce costs by an order of magnitude.
- Key analysis and support of client’s forecast model.
For a publicly-traded designer and manufacturer of GSM/GPRS mobile phones, as Interim COO: completed a merger with a private GSM GPRS handset design company in San Diego, supervised communications agency testing and compliance, managed manufacture and delivery of all engineering samples, preproduction and production handsets to North and South America, and negotiated supply agreements and purchase of tooling and fixtures for mass production.
For a CDMA Handset Test Laboratory: performed a readiness review for the annual accreditation survey and prepared the company for successful completion of its ISO audit.
Previously Gary served as VP of Operations for AML Communications Inc. (OTC:AMLJ), Camarillo, California, a designer and manufacturer of RF amplifiers and subsystems where he was responsible for all activities except Sales, Engineering and Accounting in this hands-on management position supervising 75 employees.
As VP of Operations for NeoPoint Inc., in Rancho Bernardo, California, a designer and manufacturer of CDMA/1XRTT Smart mobile phones , Gary had line responsibility for 125 employees in the planning, purchasing, logistics, customer service, facilities, IS, and Product Test functions. For Tandon Corporation, Moorpark, CA and Kandy, Sri Lanka, Gary was Vice-president and General Manager of the Sri Lanka operations division, where he managed the transfer of technology projects into Sri Lanka from the U.S. and recruited and trained 2000 personnel at the Sri Lanka factory, developed and implemented policies and procedures, and established production goals and standards resulting in the production of 1 million mechanical electronic assemblies for hard disk drives for this high volume multinational manufacturer within 18 months. Gary was previously the Director of Corporate Quality at Reveal Corp., a Division of Packard Bell in Woodland Hills, CA, where he established Corporate-wide quality goals and internal support procedures and policies for this start-up manufacturer and distributor of computer accessories which generated $200,000,000 in sales within 18 months.
Gary received his B.S., in Business Administration (Operations Management) from California State University, Northridge.
